Faith by Lesley Pearce

I know how devious you can be. If you were going to do anything dodgy, you’d plan it properly.

A woman is wrongly imprisoned for a murder she didn't commit, and finally has her name cleared with the help of a man she was once involved with and who came to know her inside out although he didn't know the details of her past. She'd escaped from am abusive home and reinvented herself. Also, she hadn't treated him well but he believed in her innocence precisely of his own experience with her. It had been easy it was to pin guilt on her which, had she committed the crime, would not have been the case.
